My First akuroku
Title: Pounce

Author Notes: I've been trying new things, and this was asked of me, so I'm gunna try it! DON'T LAUGH AT MY HORRIBLE, SAD, ATTEMPT THAT I FEAR TO SHOW! xD Anyway, I'll practice more. It's fun to write a little.

Summary: Was it because he was the new guy?
"'Ey! Newbie!"
There was something about the way that word just hung in the air whenever he entered a room that shot more than just an inexplicable anxiousness through his 'non-existent' veins. There were far too many things that single word described. Far too many things for his liking. He paused only briefly, deciding it was never best to provoke that red-head into having a conversation with him when there was no Organization business to attend to.
"Don't be like that! C'mon, I was just being friendly!"
This time he stopped and glanced over his shoulder long enough to size up his senior. "Go away."
When the intrusive man's footsteps had stopped, he resumed his former pace. None of them were really all that helpful. They were all annoying, in more ways than one, but maybe he'd find a nice, quiet, secluded place, away from Axel, of all people, to get some exercise in. That seemed to be one of the few things the castle was good for. The spacious building provided him with enough hiding places to avoid the other twelve. 'Newbie' liked having a bit of space.
Just as he started to plot his course and set off on it, annoying, obnoxious, heavy, Axel plowed into him, fiery red, eye-gouging hair slapping against his face. "That's so mean. I'm trying to be nice."
"Get off!"
"Aw, c'mon, Roxy!"
Roxas glowered. "Roxas..."
"Ruckus?"
"Roxas."
"Rookie!
"Roxas! 'Got it memorized'?!"
"Aw, that's my line!"
The pout on Axel's face was hardly believable. He'd seen it just as many times as he'd heard the word 'rookie' or 'newbie'. It stopped being effective after the first time and it had never been impressive. Roxas shrugged, dislodging one of the arms just noticeably draped over him. "Shouldn't you be bothering someone else?"
Axel's grip reinforced, the remaining arm persistent and wrapped firmly around the blonde's chest, holding him firmly to the bothersome red-head. "So moody. But, you know, I can't just let you not like me," he said absently, chin resting lightly on his shoulder, eyes staring down the corridor with something akin to disinterest. "You really don't like me, huh?"
"I didn't say that," Roxas retorted, head tilted away from what looked like potentially dangerous spikes of hair. "You're just loud."
"Well, then!" Axel smirked, pecking the blonde on the cheek and pulling away before any retaliation could be made. "I guess I'll just have to try harder to impress you! Stay sharp, Roxy." Number eight flicked his fingers, a small spray of tiny fires showering over his hand like a disippating flower. "Fire likes to creep up on ya."
Roxas rubbed furiously at his cheek when Axel disappeared into the shadows, eyes sharp and searching. No one saw that, right? Being the last to arrive, he had no idea how Axel had greeted those who came between them, but he wasn't sure he wanted to know. Of all the greetings he'd been given, though, that had to be one of his favorites. Axel wasn't so bad... when his mouth was shut.
