Title: Ham
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Characters/Pairings: Yazoo, Loz; Kadaj
Rating: PG
Warnings: OOCness?
Author Note: Daddy and I have this thing about ham. Riku likes ham, Loz likes ham... so I thought I'd do a drabble on it. Nothing big, just some brotherly interaction between Loz and Yazoo.
Summary: Loz likes ham.

Loz likes ham. In fact, ham is probably his favorite thing, Yazoo notes, next to Mother, of course.
Mere remnants don't have to eat, don't have to consume the nutrients that humans do... or at least, he doesn't think so. He can't remember the feeling of hunger, but when Loz says he wants something, he gets what he wants. A child trapped in a body with pure brute strength behind it doesn't leave much room for argument.
"It would be more filling if you ate something with it," Yazoo offers, oblivious to Kadaj's complaints about Rufus Shinra and his lackies. He has no interest in fodder. After all, Mother is the only concern and while Rufus has clues, so does Big Brother. He doesn't worry as they do because he knows that Mother is waiting for them, that she will call them when the time is right. They will find her in due time, why rush and complain about the senseless?
Loz frowns and eyes the package of ham he's been devouring the last few minutes. "With it? Like what?"
Yazoo grins faintly and tilts his head. "Well, the humans usually put it between bread..."
"Feh!" Loz snorts and shoves another bit into his mouth. "Humans and their bread..."
Yazoo doesn't mind that his brother has blown him off and instead watches calmly and waits patiently for the moment of truth, when Loz will whine that he wants more and it's then that, like always, Yazoo is proven right. He gives Loz another five minutes, counting down to the very second when Loz starts to complain and rifle through the bags of stolen food, looking for more ham. Unbeknownst to his blubbering brother, he has it--perhaps for entertainment, perhaps as a lesson to his brother, he doesn't known or care. The only thing he knows that Loz likes to get his way. "I know I counted right!"
"Don't cry, Loz," he says smoothly, procuring the missing package of ham for the childish one, taking another bag with bread in it. "You're entirely hopeless."
So Loz watches in anxious interest as Yazoo prepares him something they've seen in towns quite often, but never bothered to steal. He knows all those funny condiments would never be Loz's style, but he adds a couple pieces of cheese and then hands it back, everything layered nicely between two pieces of thick, wheat bread that Loz had to have because it was 'different' from the white. He knows triumph that he doesn't express as Loz sniffs at it and picks around before taking a bite and immediately devouring it without a hint of restraint.
"Make another one, Yazoo," demands the brute and for a minute, he considers it before shoving everything in the back and dropping it in front of Loz.
"I'm afraid, brother, the first was the only freebie. You're going to have to do it yourself." He glances at Kadaj who seems to be raging over his cell phone, laughing and then shouting like a man who has lost his mind. "Maybe... once we find Mother. You can wait until then, can't you, Loz?"
"We'll find Mother soon?"
"I'm sure we will."
Somehow, he doesn't think he'll get around to making Loz another sandwich, or he'll ever really get to see Mother, but Yazoo does know that whether it's ham or Mother, the only way to motivate Loz to do things is to promise him other things.
"Pack up your things now, Loz. Once Kadaj is done playing with the President, we'll be leaving."
