Title: Deserving
Fandom: Blood+
Characters/Pairings: David/Julia
Rating: PG
Warnings: Spoilers?
Author Note: Another David/Julia... and now I want some Leo/Yuiko from Beast Master. Gotta come up with something.
Summary: His words were powerful and shook her to her very core.
Disclaimer: I don't own the icon or Blood+
Come back to us.
It's a simple statement, one that shouldn't mean so much. Perhaps it's just the feelings of guilt that run through her, watching as he was shot, as he defended her as he stared up at her with eyes full of an emotion she's not sure she's ever seen before. Or rather, she not sure she's seen in such intensity.
David is, truly, a passionate man. He's noble and strong, a man who anyone would be glad to work with, to be friends with. There is no reason, not one any better than a meager excuse, that she can use to explain why she left, why being a researcher came over her human instincts. Collins truly was a cruel man and it had taken David's severe injury, the spalsh of blood, his grunt of pain to tell her such things.
His words were powerful and shook her to her very core. She doesn't deserve such devotion. She doesn't deserve his loyalty or his honesty. She doesn't deserve to cry because that's reserved for people who haven't torn others apart. The D-Base... it wasn't worth David.
"He said it."
"Said what?"
"He said it. He said, 'come back to us'."
Lewis chuckles. "He finally said it, huh?"
She doesn't deserve the chance she's about to take or their forgiveness, but she has her answer for David... he, at least, deserves that much.
