Summary: There is no more time to debate it.

He awaits the rush of pain that should come with the sound of gunshots, echoing in his ear. He feels the wind, but there is no pain, initially. It isn’t until his hood falls that the sudden fire is racing through his body. A fire so intense his body refuses to move to safety. It’s blinding, cursing him for doing this.
But cool, soothing hands, even though he is his prey, his enemy, pull him to the shade of the trees of this park he’s cornered him in. It subsides, but the discomfort, a deep stinging, burning sensation remains. It’ll remain until nightfall and by then, it’d be too late.
“What did you hope to accomplish?”
He grunts, curling up in the coolness of the grass to find some way to force it to subside. Kai is right there! He just has to reach for his scythe. He just has to kill him and he can save him! “It doesn’t matter…” He hisses, ceasing his rolling long enough to wrap his fingers around his trusty blade. “There’s no time!”
