What is the point in leaving behind a memory? Irene wanted so badly to be remembered that she had hoped and prayed that a human would remember her.
Now that it’s his turn to die, he’s starting to realize it himself. He wants to leave his mark on someone. ‘A person doesn’t truly die if they remain alive in someone’s memories.’ Is that true?
He curls his fingers, listening to the cracking of his flesh. “I finally understand what Irene was talking about. My memory, you’ll live on with it, won’t you, Moses?”
“I won’t let you. You need to be… more than a memory!”
