100 Themes -- #9 (Karman/Moses)
Title: Drive

Author Notes: Most of the ones for that episode of Karman and Moses and their death are sort of connected, so if it feels similar, that's why.
Summary: Lies or not, not even the sun an imminent death can stop him from doing this.

It’s for Karman and Lulu that he must do this. He must grit and bear it and break his bonds of trust with his friends. There is no choice given to him. Karman’s Thorn is spreading. He’s losing himself to the fear of death, the fear of being forgotten.
The scythe clicks into attack position and he moves through the shadows, bating his breath and darting across paths of sunlight to survive. He must find Kai. He must kill Kai. It’s not by choice. He has a fondness for the man and all that he has done for them, but if Kai doesn’t die, Karman will and he cannot let that happen, if the Chevalier’s words are to be heeded.
Deep down he knows that man lied to him, that there probably isn’t a way to stop their impending doom, but it’s this newfound heart that he pushes forward and seeks out Kai in this destructive sunlight. The pain that sears through his being can’t burn out the drive seething within.
