Summary: The sun's burning rays are so close, so welcoming, like death's embrace.

The light pouring in through the windows keeps them all at bay, cowering in the deepest, darkest corners of the bottom floor of the dilapidated building until the sun sinks beneath the horizon and they are free to continue their hunt.
His fingers itch to reach out into the rays of light, bathe like the humans do and grant all of his Schiff brothers and sisters the life they all desire. Living in the world of humans is a dream they have shared since he dared to speak out against the researchers.
Karman spits nearby, carving something in the wooden floor with his spear. He wants to give it to them. The life of darkness has to contribute to their depression and all of Karman’s mood swings.
Moses bows his head and pulls away from the light, scooting towards Karman as a shift in the clouds causes his spot to light up. They will find Saya. They will get her blood and they will live out in the world of light at least once before they die. It’s his personal promise to them.
