Author Note: Sugino/Muu-chan is my favorite pairing in Tactics, even if the only marriage they have is a platonic one. He really does love her and she cares deeply for him. xD It's really cute.
Summary: Youko decides that she'll teach Sugino-sama the 'Ways of Seduction'!
Youko set up various foods, at the expense of Kantarou, of course, and sat down across from the mountain god. It was a new day and he seemed ready to learn something else. Apparently, Muu-chan had liked lesson two... or he'd forgotten it. Either way, Youko was ready to proceed with lesson number three.
"Today, we'll focus on feeding her. Ladies like it when a man offers them some of their food. Sharing is an important rule in a marriage!"
Sugino tilted his head. "Feeding her? I feed Muu-chan all the time. You've been by our home."
Youko had actually tried to forget that... "W-well, yes, but maybe Muu-chan would like something other than bugs, Sugino-sama."
"What are you talking about? Bugs are her favorite!" He replied indignantly. "She likes the big, juicy red ones the best. She's not really fond of the yellow ones and caterpillars give her indigestion, but she loves butterflies!"
"Okay!" Youko slammed her hands on the table, feeling nauseous already. "Muu-chan likes bugs, but she might like to try new things."
"New things? Human food, you mean? Humans have excellent booze, but I don't see the appeal in the elaborate settings that humans go through just to eat a meal."
"Look, Muu-chan likes things like taiyaki and barbequed beef. Do you wanna seduce her or not?"
Sugino's protests died and he returned to sitting patiently and attentively.
"Now, when you feed a girl, you don't just shove it in her face. She's gotta be ready and waiting for it. When she stares into your eyes and smiles sweetly, you know you have her. You make a compliment about her and the food, suggest she try some and then when she's interested, you move in slow, lean across the table and let her eat it." Youko sighed dreamily, eyes closed, a faint blush on her cheeks. "Isn't it so romantic?"
"I... guess so?" Sugino replied, scratching his chin.
"Of course it is!" The fox youkai snapped. "And that'll win Muu-chan's heart! Let me show you."
She picked up the chop sticks and the two of them scooted close to the table. "Sugino-sama, these pickled radishes are divine. Would you like to try some?" Youko had plenty of practice wooing unsuspecting strangers and figured that Sugino, being a man, would be no problem at all. It was in a fox youkai's nature to swindle.
Of course, Sugino couldn't take the bait. "Yeah, sure.." He shrugged and leaned over to pluck it from the chopsticks when they pulled away abruptly.
"That's not how you do it!"
"Huh? But what did I do wrong?"
"You're supposed to be romantic. You don't just jump into it like that! You've gotta show her you're interested too!"
"But you're not Muu-chan. I'm not interested in you."
It was a major blow to her pride as a youko, but she grit her teeth and let it go. "Well, just pretend I am and do me this time." Muu-chan couldn't speak anything but 'Muu' anyway, and she had no idea how he understood what she said, but she doubted that she could mimic it without making a fool of herself.
Sugino shrugged and rolled his billowy sleeves up, grabbed the chopsticks and grabbed a piece of beef. "Hey, Muuu-chan..."
She pretended he said 'Youko'.
"This is really yummy."
He really said delicious.
"Would you like to try some?"
She could have sworn his voice fell, a seductive tone to it, and when she opened her eyes and found the white tengu leaning towards her with the piece of beef offered to her, his beautiful green eyes narrowed just so, her heart stopped and her eyes fell shut again. Slowly, she leaned forward to meet him...
"Omphf!"
Muu-chan slipped between and clamped down on the chopsticks, chewing on the meat, much to Sugino's delight. The moment she finished, her mouth opened wide and anything loose on the plates was inhaled, chewed and swallowed. Her meal complete, she jumped down off the table into her husband's lap with a content sigh.
Youko had found herself rather disappointed. It wasn't every day she had a mountain god stare at her like that... or a decent man, for that matter. Sugino was oblivious to her, though.
"Was that good, Muu-chan? Did you get your fill?" His fingers rubbed circles on her belly, earning a belch from the little creature and a squeal of delight from the mountain god. "That's my Muu-chan! Let's get those nasty air bubbles out. I hear another bar's opened. Do you want to go, Muu-chan?"
Muu-chan waved her stubby arm sleepily. "Muuu..."
Lesson three was a success, in more ways than one and Youko hated Muu-chan's timing sometimes.
