Author Note: This was originally going to be some Riku bondage. I decided to write that out in a word processor and make it pretty for another day or something. This idea came out much better than the first.
Summary: The Dark is a scary place for one so consumed with Light.

Sora's afraid of the darkness. He remembers watching it consume Riku, taking him away and he trembled so badly... hesitated so much, even hated it for doing all of this, but he still reached for that hand.
And then... he spent forever fighting it. He had to face his fear. He had to raise his blade for justice, to protect those who needed it and to save those friends who were taken away by the hands of darkness and then manipulated them into terrible scenarios.
He still fears the dark. His inner world trembles every time he stares into the gold eyes of the little black masses that cling to the ground like shadows, or the more evolved ones that have color, but share that same black insignia of the Heartless. He feels nothing but relief to see that heart float away, released from the grip of darkness, free to go some place that is filled with a bright light of protection and warmth, he imagines.
His hand grabs hold of Riku's tightly as he stares bravely at the swirling mass of black, peering into a world that seems so cold and empty and it makes his stomach twist. He's scared. After all this time, all he's done, he's still afraid of it. He doesn't want Riku to go there. He doesn't want to go there. Why can't they live out in the light? But this was his idea. He wants to show Riku every thing he did, the people who helped him when hope started to dwindle. He wants to share his light with Riku, who, for all he knows, is still consumed with this oppressing aura that feeds on hate, fear and despair.
"I won't let go."
He doesn't look away from the swirling mass that Riku's inviting him into. He doesn't let go of Riku's hand, even though he wants to be stubborn and tell him he's not afraid. He doesn't want Riku to know that... sometimes, Sora's just a little bit afraid of him.
"C'mon!" He cheers himself on, smiling at his friend, though he makes sure to hold on extra tight to Riku's hand.
He's afraid, but he isn't going to let that fear eat his flame because should Riku ever get lost, he needs it to guide him back home, back to Sora.
