Title: Devotion
Fandom: Inuyasha
Characters/Pairings: Jaken; Sesshoumaru
Rating: G
Warnings: Spoilers for the final battle? O.o
Author Notes: Even Jaken needs someone to love him and while most of the people I know hate him, I do lurve him. O.o On a platonic level, of course.
Summary: No one could swear a deeper fealty than he.
Disclaimer: I don't own the icon or the prompts.
Prompt: Devotion
He faces death, an annoying child, he'd even go so far as to follow him in hell, if it came down to it. This is the depth of his devotion.
He's endured years of abuse, near-death experiences and a temper that is unrivaled, even by Inuyasha. He's gone on errands he normally would have been killed for, all to preserve his Lord's honor and his life.
Most see him as nothing but a coward, a little toad who lies and cheats his way to victory, hiding behind the legs of his master, but he knows that he is much more than that. His life before, while admittedly much less painful physically than this, was dangerous. He knew that he was on a path to destruction when the demon in white demanded they clear his path.
From that moment on, he'd discarded everything that was and paved a new future. He owes everything to his Lord and as he stands now, riding up to the shikon's massive imitation in the sky, cowering and arguing, he knows he will go. He's never been needed, but it's his responsibility. He must be there, to witness his Lord's victory over Naraku. He must prove his devotion to the skeptics.
