Author Notes: Nothing to say, really. I just got in the mood for some cute paternal interactions and found a bunch of prompts I had from other stuff. I'm gunna practice with Shippou too. o.o he's so cute and has so much potential.
Summary: There's a certain fear she holds whenever he's gone.

It's not uncommon for her to wake up in a strange new place with only Ah-Un and Jaken for company. She doesn't have the excellent nose of her demon lord, but she knows, somehow, it hasn't been that long since he left.
Her fingers curl in the grass, eyes downcast. Is it all right for her to worry? No one rivals her lord. She knows and yet... every moment he is away, she can't help that deep despair that threatens to overwhelm her outgoing personality and her cheery outlook. Does Jaken not feel this concern?
The toad snores loudly, smushed roughly against the tree they'd been using for shade. Of course not. It's something that he couldn't possibly have. Ah-Un and Jaken are unable to feel it.
It's a human weakness, he once told her. A human weakness none of them possessed.
But she doesn't mind. If it's her Lord's job to be strong and protect, and Jaken's to be noisy, and Ah-Un's to be her friend, then she'll be the worry and fear that they don't want to express. When he's not around, she tells herself it's okay to feel these things, because she loves him. She loves her Lord, her big brother, her god and worry just proves it.
She giggles to herself, climbing to her feet. Sometimes him being gone is the best time to reflect and feel. He can't scold her for what he doesn't know. "Come on, Master Jaken! Breakfast!"
